Welcome to Tutoring With Ms. Sara! I am an enthusiastic and dedicated educator specializing in Pre-K through 5th-grade Reading and Math. I have always loved working with children and am constantly inspired by each child's unique energy. My goal is to find creative, engaging ways to help your child master new skills and build lasting confidence in their academic abilities.
My Experience With a decade of classroom experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my tutoring sessions. I spent six rewarding years teaching at Westview PreK-8 in the Duval County public school system, followed by four years at River City Science Academy Mandarin. I hold a degree in Elementary Education (Grades K-6) and possess professional endorsements in both Reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
My Teaching Philosophy Every child learns differently, which is why my approach is highly adaptive. I pride myself on being dedicated, patient, structured, creative, communicative, and deeply caring. Whether we are tackling a tricky math concept or building reading fluency, I design hands-on, interactive lessons tailored to meet your child exactly where they are.
Why I Do What I Do Teaching has always been my calling, but my perspective shifted after welcoming my second child. I realized I wanted the best of both worlds: to continue making an impact in students' lives while being fully present for my own family. Launching Tutoring With Ms. Sara allows me to experience the ultimate fulfillment. I get to do the teaching I love, while still being the mom who handles school drop-offs, picks up the kids, and is always home for family dinners.
When I'm Not Tutoring... You will likely find me outside enjoying nature, cooking and baking new recipes, shopping, or soaking up every possible moment with my two little ones!
