Whether your child needs ongoing support, targeted homework help, or prep for state testing, you'll find an option that works for you. Standard Tutoring: This is my most comprehensive service. I create individualized lesson plans tailored to your child's unique learning style and academic goals. Whether they need to catch up on foundational skills or want to get ahead, we focus on deep understanding and long-term academic growth rather than just focusing on tonight's assignments.
Homework Help: Say goodbye to evening homework battles! In these sessions, I assist your student with their current schoolwork. I help them break down complex assignments, understand the immediate concepts they are learning in class, and develop independent problem-solving skills so they can tackle future homework with confidence.
State Testing: Many students—especially those who are homeschooled or learning virtually—require a certified teacher to administer their annual assessments. As a state-certified educator, I provide official proctoring services for state exams. I handle the compliance and regulations while offering your child a welcoming, low-stress environment to complete their required testing.
Policies
Location & Travel Policy
Tutoring sessions may take place at the parent's home, a local library, or another agreed-upon location.
Included Service Area: Our standard service area includes locations within a 10-mile radius of our home base (Saint Johns, FL 32259).
Travel Fee: For locations beyond this 10-mile radius, an additional travel fee of $0.60 per mile (rounded to the nearest $1) will be added to the session cost.
Payment & Fees
Payment for single sessions or packages are due before the first session is scheduled. A $15 late fee will be applied for any overdue balances.
A $25 fee may apply for returned checks.
For packages, all sessions (including make-ups) must be used within the package window. (Package window: single sessions, 4-hour, and 8-hour packages: 90 days of purchase)
Payment is accepted via Zelle (preferred payment method), Venmo, and Credit Card.
Tutoring with Ms. Sara reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate all tutoring services if payment is not received by the due date. No sessions will be scheduled or conducted until all outstanding fees are paid.
All package payments are non-refundable once the first session has been conducted.
Attendance
Tutoring sessions will start and end on time.
Each session will be 60 minutes long.
If the student arrives late, the session will still end at the scheduled time.
If the tutor is late, the missed time will be added or credited.
Cancelation & Rescheduling
A 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session without charge.
Single Session cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee.
Single Sessions canceled with proper notice may be rescheduled within 30 days, based on tutor availability.
Package Sessions canceled with proper notice must be rescheduled within the original package window.
Package Session cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in that session being forfeited and deducted from the package.
Make-up sessions are subject to availability and may not be at the regular time.
If a group session falls below the minimum required students due to a cancellation, the remaining students will be billed at the individual hourly rate, or the session may be rescheduled.
Either party may terminate this agreement permanently with 14 days written notice. Any remaining hours must be used within this 14-day notice period. No refunds will be issued for unused hours if the client chooses to stop services immediately.
Tutor Cancelation
If the tutor must cancel a session due to illness or emergency, the client will be notified as soon as possible.
Sessions will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time or credited in full.
Sick Day Clause
Each family is allowed one last-minute sick cancellation per semester without penalty.
Additional late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) will be billed in full.
Inclement Weather
In cases of severe weather, sessions may be rescheduled or canceled based on safety and family needs.
Families will be contacted as soon as possible if any changes are needed.
No Show Policy
Sessions missed without any notice will be charged in full and not eligible for rescheduling.
Limitation of Liability and Protection
Tutoring with Ms. Sara does not guarantee a specific grade, test score, or outcome for the Student. The Tutor's role is to provide instruction and support. Academic success depends on the Student's effort, application of concepts, and performance in the classroom.
Tutoring with Ms. Sara and Sara Kulas shall not be held liable for any direct or consequential damages, including but not limited to any loss, injury, or damage whatsoever arising from or related to the tutoring services, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the Tutor.
All personal and academic information shared with the Tutor will be kept confidential, except where disclosure is required by law.
